Technique can be as simple as meditation, it can be as complex as a religion, incorporating belief systems and actions such as fasting, prayer, etc.

Technique is the action we take to get from here to there. Technique is not the end result or the content.

Take a good dose of egoism and have a debate about technique with a few spiritual aspirants and you’ll have a passionate argument, a little more egoism, a fistfight, a big dose of egoism, a war.

One’s own commitment and pure desire to merge with their spiritual goal is the greatest of all techniques.

Two women went looking for the Master to ask him about spiritual matters. Not having any luck finding him, they finally went into the jungle. As night was coming they began walking out toward the clearing. Just at the edge of the jungle they saw the Master standing in a tree. They said, “Master we know nothing of spirituality.”

He said, “Take a spark and blow on it till it becomes a raging fire,” then told them that they must hurry or they would miss their train.
