Yoga
Within every human being
There is an ocean of joy
Yoga’s English translation is union and yoke. From my perspective it is the gem of Hinduism, its very basis is scientific, its most precious formulas are, the empirical, the practical, wisdom, and patience. In Indian terminology the word knowledge means experience.
There are two basic categories of Yoga, physical and spiritual. I think it safe to say that both came from the same source, and it is probably a topic of debate as to the original purpose of the two types.
The most simplified goal of Yoga is to merge into the Atman (inner self), become Self Realized, and ultimately liberated from the ego king, attachments, desires, etc.
It seems physical Yoga has many trappings and limitations; it is easy to become relaxed, feel good and satisfied with a sharp body, and spend a few minutes meditating, whereas spiritual Yoga requires a much more serious multidimensional commitment.
This whole path is not based on belief systems, or fundamentalism. Its great wisdom is that we are not the body but the eternal self.
